Admission to Visiting Student Programs 2015

1.Introduction

Shanghai SecondPolytechnicUniversity possesses advanced research facilities and rich teaching resources. International students who are willing to take courses or do research at Shanghai Second Polytechnic University as a visiting student may apply to International Student Affairs Office, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University. It is suggested that before submitting applications, the applicants ask for advice from their supervisor/tutor in home institution and discuss with relevant department/school of ShanghaiSecondPolytechnicUniversity.

The schooling system for visiting students ranges from 1 semester to 2 years. A non-degree certificate of advanced study will be awarded if the visiting student successfully finishes his/her study at ShanghaiSecondPolytechnicUniversity. Official transcripts are also available upon request.

2. Qualification of Applicants

(1) General Visiting Students: at least one year study at college or higher, HSK Level 4 or above.

(2) Senior Visiting Students: at least Master’s degree or higher, HSK Level 4 or above.

(3) Visiting Students of English Taught Programs: good English level.

3. Materials for Application

(1) Completed Application Form for International Students to Study in Shanghai Second Polytechnic University;

(2) Original or notarized copy of final schooling certificate and schooling records;

(3) Original or notarized photocopy of Certificate of HSK;

(4) Study plan and Recommendation Letter from applicant’s college;

(5) Original or notarized photocopy of passport (pages with photo; visa or residence permit);

Note: all the application materials will not be returned.

4. Application Procedure

(1) Download the Application Form for International Students to Study in Shanghai Second Polytechnic University;

(2) Prepare the application materials listed above;

(3) Submit the application materials and pay the application fee to International Student Affairs Office, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, by post mail or in person. (Post address is in Contact Information)

5. Application Schedule

Application deadline: June 30, 2015.

6. Admission Notice

Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) will be issued to the admitted applicants in July 2015.

7. Visa Application and Admission Registration

The admitted applicants should bring their Passport, Admission Notice, and Visa Application Form (JW202) to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for a student visa (X visa). The students shall come to International Student Affairs Office, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University for admission registration before the deadline indicated on the Admission Notice.
