Required Travel Documents
Do make sure that you keep at least 2 photocopies of your important documents.
Below is the checklist of important documents that you must carry with you to Baoding:
1. Valid passport and visa
2. Enough cash for your tuition fees payment and some kinds of handling charges.
3. Passport size photos (at least 6 copies)
You may also consider bringing these documents with you if you deem them necessary:

. Personal bank statement
. Reference/Recommendation letters

Getting to HBU from the Airport
The most convenient way to get to HBU from the airport is by highway bus. The regular bus time-table is:
T3 Terminal Building, 1st floor, No.3 gate for ticket, No.1 gate for aboard;
T2 Terminal Building, 1st floor, No.15 gate for ticket and aboard;
Launching Time:
10:10、11:10、14:10、16:10、18:10、20:10
Run Time: About 3 hours

The terminal station of highway bus to Baoding is Baoding Train Station. The best way of getting to HBU is taking Taxi (inform the driver to the Old Campus); the fee is about 15 RMB. We provide pick-up service for the students that come to HBU for the first time.
Students are required to arrive in Baoding no later than the day of registration (the registration date is written on admission letter). You are suggested to arrive in China during the day of registration. Those who will be arriving late (no later than 2 weeks after the day of registration) must write a letter to the Division of International Students via fax (+86-312-5022648) or email (studyinhbu@hotmail.com), informing the staffs regarding the reasons of their late arrival.
On-campus housing at the International Student Apartment (Bailou in Pinyin) will be available to students on the day of registration.
Note: There are a limited number of places for international students who want to live on the University campus.
Setting Up a Bank Account
Below are the banks near HBU where you can set up a bank account as soon as you arrive in Baoding:

1 minute walking distance from the gate of South Campus
-Agricultural Bank of China (中国农业银行)
7 minutes bicycle distance from the gate of South Campus
-China Construction Bank (中国建设银行)
6 minutes bicycle distance from the gate of South Campus
You can convert the foreign currencies of Pound Sterling, Hong Kong Dollar, American Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar and Australian Dollar into RMB in any of these banks. When you have opened a bank account in one of these banks, you can deposit foreign currencies directly into that bank account of yours.
It is required that you present your passport to the bank staffs when you open a bank account /and when you exchange currencies. In addition to that, remember to apply or ask for a UnionPay Card.
The UnionPay Card functions as a Debit Card, it enables you to transfer money from your saving/checking account directly to the recipient’s account and it is commonly used in Baoding.
