Long-term Chinese language learning program

Duration of major studies: at least half a year,
Types of class: elementary class, intermediate class, advanced class.
Compulsory courses: comprehensive Chinese, Chinese speaking, Chinese listening, Chinese pronunciation and characters, Chinese culture, Chinese composition, Chinese grammar, selected reading of articles from Chinese newspapers and magazines.
Elective courses: Chinese calligraphy, Chinese Kongfu, Chinese idioms, business Chinese, guidance on Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), Chinese history, Chinese folklores, introduction
to Chinese painting, culture of silk road, etc.
Application, registration & start dates: from March to December each year
Tuition fee: RMB 5500 / semester, RMB11000 / academic year

Registration fee: RMB 500
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed at least senior high school (or equivalent) and be 18 years old or older and in good health.

Application materials required:
1. International students application Form for Lanzhou University
2. One photocopy of the applicant’s passport information page
3. Highest educational level diploma (copy)
4. Foreigner’s physical examination form (copy)

Procedures:
1. Applicants may submit their application materials to the School of International Cultural Exchange of Lanzhou University by either post or email.
2. The School of International Cultural Exchange will review all documents and send the admission notice and visa application form for study in China (JW202) to the qualified applicants.
3. Applicants should take the admission notice, visa application form for study in China (JW202), foreigner’s physical examination form to apply for the “X�?visa at their local Chinese Embassy. (All above-mentioned documents should be original)

Undergraduate program


Majors offered: see the list of undergraduate programs;
Duration of major studies: 4 or 5 years
Date for application and registration: from January to June each year
Start date: early September each year (The details will be referred to admission notice.)
Tuition fee: RMB 16,000 per academic year (B.A.),
RMB 19,000 per academic year (B.S.);
�?fees of majors of medicine, arts and P.E. is 50�?00% higher than that of normal programs.
Registration fee: RMB 500
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed at least senior high school (or a degree with the same educational level), be 18 years old or older and in good health.

Application materials required:
1. International students application form for Lanzhou University
2. Notarized photocopy of the Highest diploma. Applicants who are university students should submit proof of student status.
3. Notarized copy of senior high school or college transcripts

4. One photocopy of the applicant’s passport information page and eight (8) passport-sized photos
5.  Foreigner’s physical examination form
Note: Documents of item 2 and 3 listed above should be original. Each document should be written in Chinese or English. Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take Chinese language courses and obtain HSK Certificate before their major studies.

Postgraduate programs


Major: see the list of master degree program;
Duration of major studies: 3 years
Date for application and registration: from January to June each year
Start date: early September each year (The details will be referred to the admission notice.)
Tuition fee: RMB 20,000/academic year (M.A.),
RMB 25,000 /academic year (M.S.);
�?fees for majors of medicine, arts and P.E. is 50%�?00% higher than that for normal programs.
Registration fee: RMB 500
Eligibility: Applicants must have finished a bachelor’s degree (or a degree with the same educational level), be 18 years old or older and in good health.
Application materials required:
1. International students application form for Lanzhou University
2. Notarized copy of bachelor degree diploma. Applicants who are university students are required to submit proof of student status.
3. Notarized copy of transcripts
4. One copy of the applicant’s passport information page and eight (8) passport-sized photos
5. Two letters of recommendation (by professors or associate professors)
6. A study or research plan
7. Foreigner’s physical examination form
Note: The documents of item 2 and 3 listed above should be original. Each document should be written in Chinese or English. Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take Chinese language courses and obtain HSK Certificate before commencing their major studies.

Doctoral degree students

Duration of major studies: 3 years
Date for application and registration: from January to June each year
Start date: Early September each year (The details will be referred to the admission notice.)
Tuition fee: RMB 23,000 per academic year (literal arts),
RMB 33,000 per academic year (science);

Fees for majors of medicine, arts and P.E. are 50%�?00% higher than that for normal programs.
Registration fee: RMB 500
Eligibility: Applicants must have finished a master’s degree (or master degree fresh graduates) and be 18 years old or older, in good health.

Application materials required:
1. International students application form for Lanzhou University
2. Notarized copy of master degree diploma. Applicants who are university students are required to submit proof of student status.
3. Notarized copy of transcripts
4. One copy of the applicant’s passport information page and eight (8) passport-sized photos
