English-Medium Program in Civil Engineering

English-Medium Program in Civil Engineering

This program cultivates students with fundamental principles and essentials about civil engineering aiming to train practical engineers with skills and innovation. Students are equipped with basic skills, ability to conduct project planning and potential to engage in R & D. Graduates can work as technicians or managers in designing, construction, management, investment and R & D department of relevant areas.

The model of this program: 2+2

It takes 4 years to complete this program generally; however it can be extended to 6 years at most. In the first two years the courses are delivered in English while in the last two years international students take classes with Chinese peers for Chinese-medium courses. This model can achieve kill-two-birds with one stone effect. On the one hand, students can start their major directly after they come to China. On the other hand, students have more time to learn Chinese before they actually need to study in Chinese.

The goal of this program

This program is set to train qualified civil engineering professionals who can speak fluent Chinese. Graduates are well equipped with professional skills and well informed about Chinese language, culture, economy, as well as its people.

Emphasis on Internship

Students can have up to one-semester internship in companies under the guidance of professors.

Language requirement

English-speaking international students don’t need pass HSK (Chinese proficiency test) to start degree programs. However they need to pass HSK 4 at the end of second year of their degree programs.
