Scholarship Establishment

Article 1 International students scholarship of SWUST includes 2 types: SWUST International Students Scholarship and SWUST Outstanding Individual Scholarship.

Article 2 SWUST International Students Scholarship is to reward excellent new students. SWUST will announce scholarship winners in February and June each year in accordance with the student admission plan.

Article 3 Standards of SWUST International Students Scholarship:

1)First Prize (FULL SCHOLARSHIP)：Tuition and room charge( the cost for living in the dormitory on campus) fully waived, insurance fully covered (RMB600 per person per year) and living allowance (doctoral students: RMB1200 per person per month; mater students: 1000 per person per month; bachelor students: 800 per person per month; non-degree students of one year and above: RMB600 per person per month)

2)Second Prize (TUITION WAIVER): Tuition fully waived

3)Third Prize (ALLOWANCE ONLY): Doctoral students: RMB1200 per person per month; mater students: 1000 per person per month; bachelor students: 800 per person per month; non-degree students of one year and above: RMB600 per person per month

Article 4 SWUST Outstanding Individual Scholarship is to reward international students who are diligent in study and research and ranking top in academic aspect or students who make outstanding achievements in the areas of public welfare activities, academic innovations, competitions, sports contests, student service, literary performances and cultural exchanges.

Article 5 SWUST Outstanding Individual Scholarship is divided into three categories: one first prize winner (RMB5000), two second prize winners (RMB3000 per person) and three third prize winners (RMB1000 per person). The candidates are to be recommended by their schools and supervisors in principle. The scholarship is reviewed and granted at the end of each semester.

Selection Criteria

Article 1 Selection criteria for SWUST International Students Scholarship:

1)Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and satisfy all SWUST admission criteria;

2)Applicants should be healthy physically and mentally, can well adapt to the life and study in SWUST;

3)Applicants should abide by Chinese laws and regulations, and comply with SWUST regulations;

4)Applicants should demonstrate positive learning attitude and good performance;

Article 2 Selection Criteria for SWUST Outstanding Individual Scholarship: Candidates should be full-time SWUST students and are graduating students.

1)Good moral character and behavior; Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and SWUST.

2)Excellent academic achievement; Good ability of Innovation and are active in practice. Average academic score is above 80.

3)Excellent in scientific research, innovation of science and technology, culture, art, sports, social practice and social services; special contribution to society and university.

Article 3 Students under one of the following cases are ineligible for scholarship application

1.Having received punishments from local police station or SWUST due to violation of Chinese laws or SWUST rules and regulations.

2.Being late for and absent from the classes without asking for leave and serious violation of SWUST class regulations.

3.Failing to get enough credits stipulated in the teaching plans.

4.Providing false information in scholarship application materials.
