One-Year Chinese Language Program

Tuition FeeThe tuition fee is normally RMB14,600 per academic year. Any additional credits are charged at the prevailing rate.

2. Program Aims & Learning Outcomes

A good knowledge of basic Mandarin pronunciation and Chinese phonetic alphabet;

•A good understanding of Chinese culture, history and language;

•A good master of more than 2,411 Chinese characters, 185 grammar items and basic grammar structure;

•A fundamental knowledge and skill in Mandarin listening, reading, speaking and writing;

•A commitment to life-long learning for personal and professional development and the ability to work with others as a team.

3. Program Characteristics

The Broad Discipline of Chinese advanced Language aims to provide students with a firm grounding and deep insight into language studies so they can further develop themselves.

•Students can have a taste of subjects offered by Chinese advanced Language before applying for their Majors;

•The curricula of Chinese advanced Langue allow space for students to take Electives.

•Colorful oral practices outside classroom help students adapt to environment quickly easily.

4. Program Structure

All students admitted through Chinese Advanced Language have to complete the one year Chinese Language curriculum. For the bachelor’s degree student candidates are required to indicate their Major option for their bachelor’s study by the end of the one-year language program.

5. Career Prospects

Graduates are expect to continue their further education in China Universities with the HSK certificates above level 3, and are expect to find employment in the private and public sectors, such as business services, sales and marketing, customer services, public relations, financial institutions and tourism which require capable graduates equipped with fluent communication skills.

6. Professional Recognition

The graduates are expected to get a certificate issued by HIEU.

□ Photocopy of certificate of the highest academic degree earned and original school transcript

□ Proof of working, if the candidate has graduated for years

□ Schooling certificate and three years transcript, if the candidate is still studying

□ Certificate of no criminal conviction issued by local police, if the applicant has graduated from high school for years

□ Photocopy of physical examination record for foreigners

8. Tuition and accommodation fees

The tuition fee is RMB 14,600. The tuition fees include registration fee, text books.

* The accomodation fee for the regular room is waived.

Tuition fee and accommodation fee are subject to the refund policy of HIEU, except in the case of program cancellation.

9. Admission Deadline

The dead line for fall semester is June, and the deadline for spring semester is December each year.
