Computer Science and Technology

Objectives

The PhD program of Computer Science and Technology provides students with both the theoretical and the latest technological knowledge. The program has a practical orientation and aims to equip researchers and engineers with knowledge in modern experimental methods and skills that allow them to meet the complexities of today’s challenges in the field of Computer Science and Technology. Candidates are expected to be able to engage in scientific research, and to assume leadership role in the IT industries.

Duration

Duration of program is between 3-4 years with course works in the first year, followed by a dissertation project.

Students need to successfully complete minimum 14 credits including 4 credits of core courses, 4-6 credits of elective courses, and 4 credits of practical courses.

Information and Communication Engineering

Objectives

The PhD program in Information and Communication Engineering provides students with solid theory and the latest technological knowledge. Students will have a broad choice on the research topics in telecommunication engineering, signal and system, biomedical engineering, integrated circuits, optical communications, and micro/nano photonics. Students will acquire the latest technical know-how by engaging in specialized subjects in a chosen area that focuses on the cutting edge issues. After the program, students are expected to engage in high level scientific research, and assume leadership role in their related fields.

Duration of program is between 3-4 years with course works in the first year, followed by a dissertation project.

The PhD program in Mechanical Engineering provides students with solid theory and the latest technological knowledge. The program has a practical orientation and aims to equip engineers with knowledge in modern experimental methods and research skills that allow them to meet the complexities of today’s challenges in the field of mechanical engineering. Students are expected to engage in high level scientific research, and to assume leadership role in their related fields.

Duration of program is between 3-4 years with course works in the first year, followed by a dissertation project. In a special case, duration of the program may be extended to 5 years with approval.

Civil Engineering

The PhD program in Management Science and Engineering offers advanced studies with various subjects in economics, finance, business management, urban planning and design. The program provides students with solid theory and the latest development and technological knowledge. The program has an innovative and practical orientation. Students are expected to do high level research, assume leadership role in their respective fields.

Duration

Duration of the program is between 3-4 years with possible extension to 5 years with approval.
