Location and Topography of Shenyang
Shenyang is hinterland of Liaoning Peninsula and located in the south of the Northeast China and in the middle of Liaoning Province, with Changbai Mountain and Bohai Sea in front. The highest point is 414m and the lowest point only 7m. The Liao River cuts through the area. The advantageous geographical location makes Shenyang emphasize the industrial development and as the “foundation of China”, meanwhile, it is granted the title of “National Environment Protection Model City”.

Belonging to the temperate zone, and greatly influenced by the monsoon all the year around, it has the much cooler summers and more chilly winters than the most cities in China. July is the hottest month of the year with an average temperature of 24.7 degree Celsius, while January is the coldest month of the year with an average temperature of about -11 degree Celsius. So, the best time to plan your tour should be the late summer and the mid-autumn.
