Shandong University is one of the initiative universities of modern Chinese higher education. Its main body, Shandong Imperial College (Shandong Da Xue Tang) established in 1901. It was the second national university in China, after the Imperial University of Peking. Moreover, it was the first university to be established and operated in accordance with a chartered constitution.
As one of the top ranked universities in China, Shandong University is well-reputed for world-acclaimed researchers, dedicated staff, and superior campus facilities and services. It enjoys an unparalleled atmosphere of Chinese traditional culture and thriving modern vitality. Mainly located in Jinan, a city between Mount Tai to the north and Yellow River to the south, it’s adjacent to the hometown of Confucius in the heartland of traditional China. Jinan is also a transport hub connecting Capital economy circle and Shanghai economy circle, as well as linking Shandong Peninsula to the central region of China.
In keeping with its status as a comprehensive university, Shandong University has one of the largest ranges of academic disciplines in China.
