Curriculum and teaching contents

Short-term courses(3-6 months)

This program is based on developing students’ listening and speaking skills. After the program, students can have a general understanding the of Chinese language and culture, have interest in learning Chinese, understand basic exoressions in daily life. The goal is to help students acquire the basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The courses offer required courses as comprehension, speaking, listening and characters and optional courses as Chinese folk instruments, Chinese culture, HSK tutoring, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese food, Ping-pong and so on.

Intermediate courses(1 year and above)

Based on grammar, sentences and other elements of language learning, the program tries to deenpen students’ understanding and activate their interest in Chinese language and culture gradually and develop their social communication ability in Chinese through classroom teaching and visiting.

The courses offer required courses as comprehension, speaking, listening and characters and optional courses as Chinese folk instruments, Chinese culture, HSK tutoring, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese food, Paper cut, Kite making, Chinese Chess, Tai Chi, Kong Fu, Ping-pong and so on.

Opportunities for research and practice

Besides, JSUT provides practice training in its laboratories of mechanical engineering, electronics and information engineering, computer science and engineering, chemistry & environmental engineering and vehicle & transportation engineering. JSUT can also help students get the practice opportunities in enterprises outside the campus.
