Long history
Established in 1985, Guilin Institute of Tourism (GIT) is one of the first tourism institutes in China. In 2015 Guilin Institute of Tourism was promoted to the university level and renamed Guilin Tourism University (GTU).

The 125 hectares garden-like campus of GTU holds 8 departments and 3 schools offering 9 undergraduate programs and 42 higher diploma programs on all aspects of tourism industry.

Partnership with leading international tourism organizations
Being one of the most active educational members of the United Nations Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), GTU is also a Tourism Training Partner School for Asian Development Bank (ADB). Six of its higher diploma programs including Hotel Management have passed the TedQual Certification of UNWTO. The school has long been committed to fostering high quality tourism and hospitality professionals for this region.

International program taught in English
The International Hotel Management Program taught in English was successfully launched in 2013 and the first intake of the students was from China, Indonesia and Cambodia.
