For the doctoral graduate programs, the undergraduate programs of Chinese Language Class B, the professional training program of Chinese Language and the long-term non-degree Chinese program (1 semester above), students can apply both in spring and fall semesters. For the master graduate program, the undergraduate programs of Chinese Language Class A, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, and the Overseas Chinese Education students can only apply in fall semesters. Short-term non-degree Chinese programs (less than 1 semester) students can apply anytime in the year. The minimum number for a class is 5 students.

The majors of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign/Second Language, Chinese language A and Oversea Chinese Education A enrolls high school graduates from Hong Kong , Macao , Taiwan ; overseas high school graduates with a HSK intermediate Grade C level. Overseas students can be exempted from written entrance examination, but only if they have achieved excellent results in high school and successfully passed interview. B �� Application Requirement

�� Undergraduate Program Majoring in Chinese Language B, and Overseas Chinese Education B\C, and Professional Training Program of Chinese language:

Applicants must be high school graduates or above. If recommended by Chinese Embassies, consulates, charge de affairs, overseas Chinese communities, overseas Chinese schools or famous people from overseas Chinese communities or the headmaster of your high school, the applicant may be exempted from a written examination and apply for enrollment by interview directly on the basis of competitive selection. The major of Overseas Education Class B will enrolls students with Chinese Proficiency of HSK between Intermediate C Level and elementary B level or with equivalent Chinese proficiency. Other programs can enroll students without previous Chinese education .

�� Rudimentary, Intermediate and Advanced Chinese Language Class and Crash Chinese Course:

Applicants must be junior middle school graduates or above.

�� Business Chinese and Cantonese Courses: Applicants must be junior middle school graduates or above, having passed HSK rudimentary level A test or above or with equivalent Chinese proficiency.

�� Chinese Teacher Training Course: Applicants must be overseas Chinese teachers and only group applications are acceptable.

�� Part time Chinese Language Class and Summer/Winter vacation Chinese Courses and HSK Training Course: No selection requirement

�� ��Chinese Language and Culture�� Summer and Winter Camp: Only group applications are acceptable.

�� Chinese Mandarin Training Course for Students from Hong Kong , Macao and Taiwan : Only group applications are acceptable.

�� Pre-examination Training Class for National Certificate of Teachers' Ability to Teach Chinese as a Foreign Language: Students at home or abroad are welcome to apply. For overseas students, only group applications are acceptable.

C �� Application Time:

��Undergraduate Program Majoring in Chinese Language B, and Overseas Chinese Education B\C, Professional Training Program of Chinese language, Business Chinese, Cantonese, Part-time Chinese Language Class: Enrolment in both spring semester and fall semester. Transfer students are accepted during these two semesters.

Spring semester class: Applications are accepted from October 8 to Jan 8.

Fall semester class: Applications are accepted from April 8 to July 8.

��Summer/Winter vacation Chinese Courses:

Winter vacation class: Applications are accepted from September 1 to December 31.

Summer vacation class: Applications are accepted from March 1 to June 31.

�� Other short-term classes accept applications at any time in the year. The minimum number for one class is 5 students.

F �� Time for School Opening

�� Undergraduate Program, Rudimentary, Intermediate and Advanced Chinese Language Class, Crash Course, Business Chinese Class, Cantonese Class, Part-time Chinese Training Class: Classes commence the end of February or early March for the spring semester and end of August or early September for the fall semester.

�� Winter and Summer Vacation Chinese Language Class, Chinese Language and Culture Winter / Summer Camp: The school opens in January and July each year.

�� HSK Intensive Training Classes: There are 3 HSK Intensive Training Classes each year, opening respectively in early April, early June and mid November.

�� Other short-term classes: School opening time is flexible and is subject to the number of applicants.

F �� Application Method:

Applicants can apply to the admissions office of the college directly or through referrals by submitting the carbon copies of the application documents required in person or by fax, E-mail or post. The application fee must be remitted at the same time (see below for the bank account). The original copies of the application documents should be validated or submitted upon registration days. If the applicant is to enter China with a Student visa ��X��, he must mark out Student Visa in the application form.

G �� Application Documents:

�� For Full Time Undergraduate Programs and Professional Training Program of Chinese language:

1. On e printed copy of the completed application form of Jinan University . Visit Web site: Http://lxlz.jnu.edu.cn , fill out over the internet, print the application form and sign.

2. Passport or other valid IDs. Overseas Chinese should also provide notarial deed, issued by local Chinese embassy or consulates, that certifies the applicant having permanent residential status in the students' residence country,.

3. A graduation diploma from their high school or higher institution and its notarized Chinese or English version issued by a local Chinese embassy or consulates.

4. Official Transcripts of every academic year of high school or higher institutions and their notarized Chinese or English version authenticated by a local Chinese embassy or consulates.

5. Reference letters from Chinese Embassies, consulates, charge de affairs, overseas Chinese communities, overseas Chinese schools or famous people from overseas Chinese communities or headmaster of high school.

6. Two recent color photos without hat or head coverings (Size: 30mm * 35mm ).

�� For Non-degree Education:

1. On e copy of completed application form of the College of Chinese Language and Culture, Jinan University . Application form can be downloaded from our home page http://hwy.jnu.edu.cn .

•  Passport or other valid IDs.

•  Two color photos without hat or head coverings (Size: 30mm * 35mm ).

4. Applicants for Chinese Teacher Training Course shall submit the Teaching Qualification Certificate endorsed by overseas Chinese teaching institutes or communities.

H �� Enrollment and Visa Application

After the application documents and application fee are received, if eligible, an admissions notice will be issued and sent or faxed to the student. If the student applies for the student's entry visa in the regulated application time, besides an admissions notice, a JW202 form will be issued and sent to the student in one month. Chinese embassies or consulates will issue an entry visa (��F�� Visa for studying in China within 180 days; ��X�� Visa for studying in China more than 180 days) when the admissions notice and JW202 Form are presented. The student �� except those from Africa and the Middle East, may also enter China with a tourist visa if they have failed to process an ��F�� or ��X�� visa for lack of time or other reasons. Upon registration, the college will help students convert the tourist visa into an ��F�� visa. Students who have a valid residential permit and who wish to transfer from other Chinese schools should ask for a transfer letter from their former school so as the college can extend your residential permit upon arrival.

Recruitment for Transfer students into Undergraduate Program Majoring in Chinese Language B

A �� Prospective Students and Application Requirements: Applicants must be high school graduates or higher, foreigner or overseas Chinese, with Chinese studies experience in institutions of higher education at home or abroad. If recommended by Chinese Embassies, consulates, charge de affairs, overseas Chinese communities, overseas Chinese schools or famous people from overseas Chinese communities or headmaster of high school, the applicants could be exempted from written examination and apply for enrollment by interview directly on the basis of competitive selection.

B �� Transfer Requirement and Note:

•  Transfer students are accepted from freshmen level to junior level. Transfer students are required to study further for at least two years prior to graduation.

•  Students transferring from other Chinese universities need to submit the original certificate of study and original transcripts.

•  Those applicants applying by HSK level should present HSK certificate and transcripts, and with relevant Chinese study experience.

•  Students in the Rudimentary and Intermediate Chinese class of our college can apply to transfer directly to equivalent classes. Students who study in Crash or Business Chinese Class need to make up some courses if applying to transfer.

C �� Application Documents: Besides the application documents required for Undergraduate Program Majoring in Chinese Language B above, the applicant should submit the following application documents:

�� Certificate and official transcripts of Chinese studies.

�� Those applicants applying by HSK level should present Certificate and transcript of HSK.
