Programs and Admission requirements

  (1) Foundation program: For students who have not achieved HSK level 4. Applicants should have a high school diploma. After one-year program study for Chinese language skill test, those pass HSK level 4 or Chinese language skill test arranged by GUBS could apply for entry into undergraduate studies.

  (2) Undergraduate: Below 55 years old, Applicants should have a high school diploma. Those attending programs conducted in Chinese language should submit a HSK score above 4 or pass a Chinese language skill test arranged by GUBS; Those attending programs taught in English should have a TOEFL score above 500 (paper based) or a IELTS score above 5, or pass a English skill test arranged by GUBS.

  (3) Graduate: Below 55 years old, Applicants should have a bachelor degree and recommendations by professors or associate professors. Those attending programs conducted in Chinese language should submit HSK score above 6 or pass a Chinese language skill test arranged by GUBS; Those attending programs taught in English should have a TOEFL score above 550 (paper based) or a IELTS score above 5.5, or pass a English skill test arranged by GUBS.

Application instructions

  The required documents in Chinese or English may be submitted by applicant in person or via mail、email or fax to International School of GUBS or Foreign Affairs Office of GUBS. Authenticity of all submitted documents will be examined by the university.

  (1) Foundation program: Application form, passport copy, high school diploma copy with notarization in English or Chinese, notarized high school transcript in English or Chinese, study plan and two photos.

  (2) Undergraduate program: Documents needed are as follows: Application form, passport copy, high school diploma copy with notarization in English or Chinese, notarized high school transcript in English or Chinese, HSK score if programs are taught in Chinese, or TOEFL or IELTS score if programs are taught in English, two photos, etc.

  (3) Graduate program: Documents needed are as follows: application form, passport copy, notarized graduation certificate copy in English or Chinese , notarized bachelor degree copy in English or Chinese, notarized transcript in English or Chinese, study plan, resume, two recommendations, HSK score if programs are taught in Chinese or TOEFL or IELTS score if programs are taught in English, two photos ,etc.

  Overseas Chinese should present notarized local permanent residence permit by local Chinese embassy.

Application time

  Before June 30 for autumn semester, before December 30 for spring semester.

Entrance

  There are no entrance examinations for international students.

Student visa application

  Students admitted by GUBS may apply for a visa at local Chinese embassy with GUBS admission letter and JW202 (or JW201) form. Except for students from Africa and Middle East, those who do not have enough time to apply for a student visa may apply for a tourism visa at first, after registration at Foreign Affairs Office of GUBS, students will get help from the office to change visa status to F, application fee is afforded by applicant him(her)self. Students transferring from other universities should apply for a resident permit at local police office before registering at GUBS.
