President Scholarship
“President Scholarship” for International Students Study in Lanzhou University of Technology (LUT)
In order to encourage excellent international students to study in Lanzhou University of Technology (LUT), LUT establishes “President Scholarship”. This regulation is constituted for the awarding of scholarship.
I. Awarding Range and Standards of Scholarship
Awarding Range
A (Full)：Self-supporting Master's and Doctoral Degree students will be eligible for full scholarship.
B (One Year Tuition-free): Self-supporting Bachelor’s and Master's Degree students will be eligible for one year tuition free.
C (Excellent Student): Self-supporting Chinese language students (study at least one year) and Master's Degree students will be eligible for excellent student scholarship.The scholarship is classified into 3 categories as First Prize, Second Prize, and Third Prize.
Award
A (Full)：RMB 40，000(Master)，72，000(PHD);
B (One Year Tuition-free) : RMB 12，000 (Bachelor)，RMB 16，000(Master);
C (Excellent Student)：First Prize RMB 4，000, Second Prize RMB2，000, Third Prize RMB1，000.
Note: Scholarships are not payable in cash, award will be directly deducted from the amount of tuition of the corresponding school year.
II. Awarding Amount
A (Full)：4 persons per year (2 for Master, 2 for PHD)
B (One Year Tuition-free) : 8 persons per year (4 for Master, 4 for Bachelor)
C (Excellent Student):60% of the Bachelor’s students and Chinese language students can enjoy these scholarships, among which 10% first prize, 20% second prize, 30% third prize.
III. Requirements
i. A/ B
1. Applicants abide by the laws and decrees of Chinese Government and observe rules and regulations of LUT voluntarily.
2. Applicants have excellent results in undergraduate study/graduate study. ( Results of all the subjects are above 85 points)
3. Applicants do not enjoy any other kind of scholarship by home country or Chinese government.
ii. C
1. Applicants abide by the laws and decrees of Chinese Government and observe rules and regulations of LUT voluntarily.
2. Applicants have excellent results when study in LUT. ( Results of all the subjects are above 80 points)
3. Applicants need to actively participate in various activities and social practice when study in LUT
4. Applicants do not enjoy any other kind of scholarship by home country or Chinese government.
IV. Application procedures:
i. Applicants can submit Application Forms while signing up for study. The Application Forms can be obtained from International Office of LUT or email to international@lut.cn to ask for the form.
ii. Application period will be expired to June 30 each year.
iii. Study-in students need to submit：
1. Bachelor’s degree students are required to provide the results of this corresponding year's exams (If the school year exams do not complete, the results of exams can be supplemented).
2. Masters and Ph.D. students are required to provide the results of this corresponding year's exams and the result of research and tutor’s recommendation.
iv. Students prepare to study in LUT need to submit:
1. Bachelor’s degree students are required to provide the application documents and the recommendation signed by the head of high school.
2. Masters and Ph.D. students are required to provide the application documents as well as photocopies of research results, research papers and corresponding documents.
V. Scholarship Management and Appraisal Methods
i. Applicants are required to provide all the application documents to International Office. International Office will extend the documents to the corresponding institutes and departments for appraisal and then submit to the Committee of ‘President Scholarship’. There would be an interview if necessary. The list of scholarship winners will be finalized in accordance with the final decision of the the Committee of ‘President Scholarship’.
ii. International Office will notify the results on the website of International Office in late July and issue a ‘Scholarship Inform’ to the scholarship winners
iii. Scholarship winners will be re-assessed at the end of first school year. Those who pass the assessment will continue enjoying the scholarship. Those who do not pass the assessment, the scholarship will be canceled.
iv. If scholarship winner do not enroll in LUT in time without school permission, the qualification of scholarship will be canceled.
v The authority of interpretation of this regulation will be possessed by Iternational Office.
