Why PKU

     Founded in 1898, Peking University (PKU) is the first national university in Chinese modern history, with a high reputation in and outside China , owing to the abundant teaching resources and outstanding research level. Peking Univ-ersity now consists of 31 colleges and 14 departments, offering 101 undergra-duate programs, 224 postgraduate programs, and 202 doctoral programs.


     In 2004, there were over 4000 international students from about 80 count-ries, including 1825 long-term students and approximately 2,600 short-term students. Among them, there were 1,292 Degree-Seeking students, including those seeking undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree.
