Sichuan is bordered by the Tibetan Plateau in the west and by the Three Gorges and the Yangtze River in the east. The eastern part of the Sichuan basin is ringed by lofty mountains and experiences a subtropical and humid climate. The western part is considered the highland area and experiences frequent fog with intense sunlight, but low temperatures. The annual rainfall in this province is 1000 mi.

Yi Bin University, a four-year University located in southwest China's Sichuan Province, will offer Chinese language, culture, history, and other courses for foreign students beginning in September 2005. Yi Bin is a mid-sized city located at the point where the Min and Jin Sha Rivers come together to form the Yangtze. It is also just 90 minutes away from the Bamboo Sea, a national park whose beauty gained international fame when scenes from the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" were filmed there.

In addition to small-group classes designed especially for foreign students, international students will have the option of auditing Chinese students' regular courses in any of our 14 departments, including Politics & Law, Mathematics, Foreign Languages (English and Russian), Biochemistry, Education, Fine Arts, and P.E. We will provide assistance in obtaining a student visa and will work with you to individually tailor a course of study that suits your academic needs and interests.
