School Introduction and Mission
Founded in 1996, Shanghai Jincai High School, was built by donations from Mr.Ye Gengsheng, and was the first up-to-date, high-standard boarding high school in the 1990s. With much hard work, Jincai High School has been authorized as a member of IBO and become one of the IB World Schools in Feb. 2006, the School Base for Chinese International promotion in May 2007, a Chinese Learning Base in Dec. 2009. In recent years, Jincai High School has been highly recognized for its quality education and its stable educational level. The success rate for entry into colleges/universities in China, including the International Division, is nearly 99 percent.
As neighbors of Century Park, Shanghai Jincai High School is located in the central Pudong New Area of Shanghai. Both the main campus and the International Division are surrounded with elegantly designed buildings. In the Sept. of 2009, the International Division moved from our Ding Xiang Rd. Campus to a new one on E Shan Rd. There are around 2,000 students enrolled in Shanghai Jincai High School, including 1700 local students and 300 international students from 30 different countries and regions.
Both the Chinese Department and English Department are located at the Jincai International Division campus. Native teaching materials are adopted in the Chinese department while original international teaching materials are used in the English Department. There are several different curriculums and courses such as the Diploma Program, ESL&CSL (English as a Second Language & Chinese as a Second Language) programs, and also College Entrance Examination courses especially for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan students. Our school plans to launch the IBDP project (International Baccalaureate Diploma Program) and the IBPYP (International Baccalaureate Organization Primary Years Program) project within the next three years.
Besides excellent teaching facilities, the students’ dorm can hold up to 600 boarding students. Students have the option of a room with 2 or 4 students. Sufficient supplies, internet access, lockers, storage space, and laundry are provided for students. Students are provided three meals per day in the school cafeteria during weekdays (On weekends and during the holidays, students must supply their own meals). There is a supermarket, internet cafe and entertainment rooms on the campus. There is convenient public transport (buses to the subway stations) that links the Jin Cai campus with other parts of the city. School buses are also at the service of day students.
