The School of International Education (SIE) is one of the secondary schools of Zhengzhou University (ZZU). It is a channel through which ZZU runs cooperative education programs with foreign universities, and it is also a home for foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions to enjoy their study and living. The functions of SIE include enrolling and managing foreign students and students from HK, Macao and Taiwan, managing education of the university concerning foreigners, holding Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and foreign training programs. SIE consist of the following departments: Enrollment office for foreign students and students from HK, Macao and Taiwan, International Cooperation Office, Educational Administration Office, Students Management Office, Chinese Language Training Center and Administration Office.
SIE is responsible for enrolling and managing foreign students and students from HK, Macao and Taiwan. At present, the population of foreign students and students from HK, Macao and Taiwan at college has reached nearly 600. These students are at various levels including Master candidates, Bachelor candidates and short-term training program students. The students come from many countries like U.S.A, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Russia, India, Pakistan and Nepal etc., and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. There are ten subjects and more than eighty majors concerning medicine, management, and Chinese languages for foreign students.
SIE is also responsible for holding foreign cooperative education programs and foreign training programs. By now, SIE has held different types of cooperative programs and students exchange programs cooperating with countries and regions of the U.S.A., U.K., the South Korea, Japan and Australia, etc. SIE shoulders the mission of promoting and improving the educational internationalization of ZZU. Therefore, SIE is making concentrated efforts to carry on education cooperation and exchange programs with famous universities abroad in various forms, such as 4+0, 2+2, 1+3, 3+1, 2+2+1, etc., so as to bring in the advanced teaching contents, teaching methods, courses, systems and teaching managing pattern from foreign universities.
