Undergraduate Program for Rehabilitation Therapeutics (4 Years)

Orientation

This program intends to meet the need of economic, social, cultural and scientific advances. It will enable students to understand the essential theory of rehabilitation therapeutics, basic knowledge of medicine and relevant natural science information, thus preliminarily conduct rehabilitation treatment, assessment and prevention for common conditions and disabilities and improve their social communication ability and professional ethics required of a high-quality rehabilitation therapist.

Teaching methods

These include 1:1 ratio between classroom lectures and practice, case studies, PBL teaching and group training. A comprehensive training center is available and equipped with facilities of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and hearing therapy and traditional Chinese rehabilitation techniques. In addition, synchronized video teaching from overseas universities may also be possible in the near future.

Future career development

After graduation, students may work in the rehabilitation department of Chinese, Western or Integrative Chinese and Western medical institutions, sports rehabilitation institutions and rehabilitation center for senior citizens. Alternatively, they may work in acupuncture, tuina, traumatology and physiotherapy departments of hospitals. They can also conduct education and research in rehabilitation medicine or rehabilitation-related disciplines in medical schools.
